To celebrate the start of the spookiest season, I thought I'd share more about the π©Έ Pick Your Poison β οΈ bar I put together! β¨
2 bubbling cauldrons next to a bar of potion bottles with liquids of various colors and textures.
So to start off, I made a "balloon trick-or-treat" game by writing "trick" and "treat" on slips of paper, rolling them up, and putting them inside festive orange and black balloons. Each person picks one, pops it, and finds either a trick or a treat!
Those unlucky enough to find a trick much choose from the π©Έβ οΈ Pick Your Poison β οΈπ©Έ bar
(okay, tbh, everyone wanted to try out the potions, but balloon trick or treat a fun little minigame)
The bar should include a mix of soft and alcoholic drinks. This way everyone can participate, and it adds a layer of surprise for those who drink either
Be clear with non-alcohol drinkers about which ones they can choose from, and be sure to give them a variety to pick from too!
Okay, now onto the bit you actually came for: the secret to my potions!
There are 4 "types" of drink you can see in that photo, with multiple variations on a few of them. To keep things rolling throughout the month, I'm going to tweet about a different one every Thursday, ending with my favorite one π Give me your best guess which one that is!
Let's start with ones that are better introduced by video than photo: magic sparkling potions!
Purple shimmering liquid swirling inside a bottle.
Black shimmering liquid swirling inside a bottle.
These shimmering potions are incredibly simple: just add Shimmer Dust! Sometimes called Pearl Dust, Edible Glitter, Luster Dust, etc, this stuff is usually used to decorate cakes. I used Wilton's (not an ad). Adding it to alcohol creates a beautiful swirl when you shake it
